Are the animated tokens in the Kickstarter the same as the those offered in the preorder?

No, these are two different sets of tokens. The preorder animated tokens are a small number of alternate art tokens and unique animations. These are not the same as the animated tokens being offered in the Kickstarter itself.

When do I select if I want my book as 5th Edition or Pathfinder 2e?

After the Kickstarter has ended, you will receive an email asking you to finalize your order. You should receive this email in late May 2024, when you will be directed to the BackerKit survey. Here you will confirm your Kickstarter order, along with adding any additional materials to your order.

You will also be asked when filling out this survey if you wish to receive either 5th Edition or Pathfinder 2e materials.

So don’t worry, you don’t need to commit to either 5e or Pathfinder 2e until you receive this survey!

Do I need to do anything to get the limited edition Battlezoo Ancestries: Dragons hardcover book?

As long as you pledged during the first 48 hours and backed a tier of $99 or more, you will automatically have the limited edition hardcover added to your order. After the Kickstarter is over, you will get a link to BackerKit where you can select the edition of this hardcover, either 5E or Pathfinder 2e.

If I pledge at a lower amount now, will I be able to update my pledge and rewards later in BackerKit?

Yes, you can. After the Kickstarter is over, you will be charged right away for the tier you selected. A few weeks later, you will be invited to the BackerKit pledge manager, where you will submit your shipping address, pay for shipping, and be allowed to add any “add-ons” to your pledge. You can also change your pledge level. We have allowed this option in BackerKit and turned it on for all backers.

Yes, as long as you don’t lower your pledge below $99, you will automatically receive the animated tokens.

Yes, if you add the hardcover add-on, you will also receive the PDF for that book as well.

If I pre-ordered Battlezoo Bestiary: Elemental Storm, do I get the animated tokens and digital maps for free?

Yes and no. You will need to back the animated tokens and digital maps listed in the Kickstarter if you wish to receive them. Instead, you will be receiving a new digital map with variants that are only offered to backers who pre-ordered the book. You will also receive alternate art animated tokens for a handful of monsters. Neither of these rewards are offered any other way and can only be obtained by pre-ordering the book.

How long is each book?

Currently, each book is approximately 100 pages in length. This might grow even larger depending on stretch goals. With 50 stretch goals, there is a very real possibility that each book will grow significantly longer.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Terms and Conditions

Please note that in order to complete the fulfillment of your order, you must also adhere to the following to ensure the completion and successful delivery of your order: I understand that my address is my responsibility. I understand that if my address is incorrect and my package is lost, a replacement package will require the full amount to be paid again, including shipping. I understand that it is my responsibility to use a secure address and that if it is not and my package is stolen, it is my responsibility to follow up with law enforcement and the postal service. If my address is potentially not secure, it is my responsibility to use an address where I can safely receive my order. I understand that if my package is stolen, a replacement package will require the full amount to be paid again, including shipping. I understand that I am responsible for any VAT, taxes, import duties, or other fees that my country or region may require and that those fees are not included in shipping (as noted throughout the Kickstarter campaign). I understand that it is my responsibility to inquire with my country's customs office to determine if there will be additional fees.
